Joint Managing Director
Having spent the earlier part of his career in retail management, George Thompson's first involvement in recruitment was in 1987, when as Director of a London based plc, he was one of the main driving forces behind the company's diversification into recruitment.
Within a relatively short time, the company boasted a high-profile client base with names such as Glaxo, Carl Zeis, Nikon and many others.
George was then headhunted to join Harrison Scott Associates. Prior to joining Dominic Grudzien (joint Managing Director), he spent several months in the U.S observing the methodology used by the top recruitment companies. This proved to be the inspiration for Veriqual®.
George plays a major role in every Industry the company is involved in but is best known in the Printing Industry. He has had many articles published, and in late 2001 was voted by Printing World as the 34th most influential person in the whole printing industry. In this highly respected magazine he is described as " without doubt the highest profile print career management specialist".
In 2010, 2011 and 2012 George was voted No 1 in the PrintWeek Power 100 public vote. In 2014 the PrintWeek's Power 100 had a format change, where print suppliers were voted on a separate table. George achieved the No 1 spot on the industry Supplier List for 3 years running (2014-2016), however was beaten off the top spot in 2017 by the MD of HP Indigo - achieving 2nd place.
