A highly successful printing company is looking for someone with strong man-management skills to take on the role of Works Manager. Our client will also consider someone who is nearing retirement and would like to work 3 days a week.

The focus of this role is for the successful candidate to pass on their knowledge to the existing production manager. Our client is looking for someone with good technical knowledge of digital printing along with strong finishing experience. You must take a proactive approach in ensuring consistency of print and finishing quality for every job.

Experience in the implementation of ISO 9000 would be highly desirable but not essential .

This role requires someone who excels at identifying skills shortages and implementing effective procedures. It will be vital to ensure every moment of production is well managed to maximise productivity.

A Good Mentor…

A good mentor will exhibit the personal attributes it takes to succeed. You will show the existing production manager what it takes to be productive and successful in the world of digital printing.

It goes without saying that as a mentor, you are regarded as an expert in your field. But you must be able to clearly explain what you know and take the time to do it. Communicate the intricate details in a way that makes sense and so they can be learned from.

A good mentor will be approachable, ready to listen, be open minded and provide sound advice. Honest guidance while ensuring our clients current production manager takes the reins and makes their own decisions as to next steps or the best course of action.

In this ever-changing marketplace, it will also be important to keep an eye on trends and developments that may impact your mentoring role.
