The Opportunity:
Our client – a leading UK-based manufacturer of specialist liquid inks – is looking to recruit a Trainee Sales Executive to support business growth across the Southern UK region. The role is ideal for someone either in account management or with hands-on ink experience (e.g., in-plant technician or print room operative) who understands ink performance, application challenges, and production environments – and now wants to take that knowledge into the commercial space.
Your Role:
You will be trained and supported to:
- Engage with new and existing customers in various packaging sectors.
- Learn how to identify new business opportunities for solvent-based and water-based liquid inks.
- Arrange and attend customer visits, building confidence in presenting solutions and understanding customer needs.
- Work alongside technical colleagues to support product trials, problem-solving, and customer training.
- Develop the skills to manage accounts, grow relationships, and contribute to long-term partnerships.
- Assist in preparing proposals, learning the sales process from first contact through to order placement and follow-up.
What You’ll Bring:
- Ink knowledge and production experience – perhaps as an in-plant technician, press operator, or ink room specialist.
- A genuine interest in sales and customer relationships.
- Willingness to learn, travel, and grow in a commercially driven role.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
