About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Packaging Designer to join a successful and innovative packaging and print organisation.

Reporting to the Studio Manager you will be working within a Product Development team, you will play a key role in designing, developing and enhancing creative packaging and promotional formats that deliver commercial value and meet customer requirements.

This position is ideal for a creative cardboard engineer with a strong technical background in packaging design, CAD software, and print production processes.

Key Responsibilities

·Design and develop innovative packaging, promotional and direct mail formats.
·Create and enhance existing structural designs to maximise creativity, functionality and commercial value.
·Produce die-cut layouts, cutter guides and production print layouts for live projects.
·Create samples and prototypes for internal teams and customers.
·Support customers by providing technical advice and artwork guidance throughout the production process.
·Review and assess customer-supplied artwork, recommending amendments where required.
·Liaise closely with sales, commercial, production and product development teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
·Conduct production feasibility and format health checks to support accurate project costing and manufacture.
·Develop concept ranges and presentation samples for customer proposals.
·Present format concepts and design solutions directly to customers when required.
·Maintain and contribute to an extensive format library and design database.
·Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

·Previous experience in packaging design and cardboard engineering.
·Strong knowledge of packaging, promotional print and direct mail formats.
·Experience using CAD software, ideally Kasemake.
·Experience with plotter/CAM outputs.
·Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
·Understanding of print production, reprographics and packaging manufacturing processes.
·Excellent creative, technical and problem-solving skills.
·Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
·Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
·A proactive and innovative approach to design development.
