This is a great opportunity for a Production Management Professional to join a South East London based SME manufacturing company, established for well over 40 years, who have become a leader in their field of Print Supplies Manufacture for the Commercial & Security Print sectors.

  • Reporting to the Group Operations & Sales Manager you will manage a team comprising the Production Manager, Office Manager, Lab Manager and Group Buyer. within a c.£10m+ operation.

Our Client is looking to appoint someone with a proven track record in similar Print / Production / Operation Management roles who possesses a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing, preferably with experience relevant to the printing trade.

Your main responsibilities will include managing production resources and production schedules to ensure high-quality products are produced in line with customer lead times.

You will also assist in managing and supporting all c.20 staff in the factory to ensure the smooth running of the production operation.

The position also includes responsibilities for Health and Safety as well as maintenance of Key Equipment, while working with the Group H&S and Compliance Team.

You will also be responsible for the training and development of production personnel and conducting performance reviews as needed.

Ideally, you will have experience in a supervisory or management role in a printing or ink or coating production environment – equal consideration will be given to those with backgrounds in Chemicals / Adhesives / Paints / Lacquers etc., with the ability to lead and motivate the team across the entire site.

You should be approachable, a good communicator, and have a ‘can-do’ attitude to create and maintain positive morale and a pleasant working environment.

Key Skills Required:

Maintain constant communication with staff, and management to ensure proper operations of the company
Maintain quality assurance in line with the company’s ISO process.
Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity
Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within Quality control specifications.
Track staffing requirements and performance.
Provide leadership to all staff and promote organisational vision
Writing policies and procedures for use by all staff within the company.
Implement and improve infrastructure due to the growth of the company.
Training and mentoring of staff at all levels.
Work closely with other company sites and support if required.
Technical Support to staff across the site.

Required skills and experience:

Production Manager/ Supervisor experience: 5 years minimum
Fully competent in manufacturing
Computer literate be able to keep records of daily tasks and H & S using Excel documents

Qualifications Required:

Maths and English.

Familiar with Microsoft Programs, Word Excel etc.
