In order to ensure we are able to achieve all of our regulatory requirements, product relocations, brand launches, design changes and to support our sales growth strategy, a secondment opportunity is now available based within the Nottingham Manufacturing site. The main duties of the role of Print Development Technician include:

• Detailed planning, coordination and supervision of strategic and local brands in regard of the technical realisation of printed packaging materials
• To act as a consultant to Central Marketing, Regional Marketing and design agencies to optimize designs for economic production
• The creation of artworks and standardisation of brand designs
• The determination of print standards and specifications (print method, colours, ink maker, tool suppliers)
• Specifying the print source and method of printing and printer in conjunction with the Purchasing Department
• Approval of the first print run
• Qualification of new printers world wide

The successful applicant will be highly organised with good project management and communication skills and whilst some training will be provided, an understanding of company processes such as AGP, Purchasing, Project Control and Co-ordination, packaging Development and Customer Services would be an advantage. The candidate should be able to operate effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment. Travel within the UK and overseas will be a requirement of the role.

Applicants will have ideally completed professional training or a degree in print technology with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

A high level of IT skills within Microsoft Office packages and a base knowledge of Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop are desirable. An understanding of data based programs would be a distinct advantage.
