Job Title: Head of Production

Salary: £To Attract The Best

Location: South East England

Lead the future of print.

Some production environments are built around keeping things moving. Others are built around pushing boundaries, challenging convention and continually raising the bar. This is an opportunity to lead the latter.

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Production to take the reins of a progressive, technology-driven printing operation where innovation, automation and operational excellence are central to its success. With cutting-edge digital print and wide-format capabilities, alongside industry-leading software and systems, this is a business that embraces what modern print can achieve — and has the ambition to keep moving forward.

The challenge? To build on that success, lead from the front and ensure the production operation continues to perform at the highest possible level.

A role for someone who knows what great looks like.

This is not a position for someone who is content with maintaining the status quo. We’re looking for a forward-thinking production leader who understands the relationship between technology, people, processes and profitability — and knows how to bring them together to deliver outstanding results.

You’ll take ownership of the production operation, driving performance across digital print and wide format while ensuring quality, efficiency, turnaround times and customer expectations remain consistently high. You’ll have the experience and commercial awareness to understand the bigger picture, but also the operational credibility to identify where improvements can be made, challenge existing processes and turn good performance into something exceptional.

With sophisticated software and technology already at the heart of the business, you’ll have the platform to make a real difference. Whether that means refining workflows, maximising equipment utilisation, improving scheduling, developing automation or finding smarter ways to manage capacity, you’ll be expected to look beyond the immediate demands of the day and continually seek out opportunities to do things better.

Leadership that makes a difference.

Technology alone doesn’t deliver success. People do.

You’ll be responsible for developing a high-performing production team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You’ll know how to bring people with you, set clear expectations and give talented individuals the direction and support they need to excel. Equally, you’ll be comfortable making the difficult decisions required to maintain standards and deliver results.

Working closely with colleagues across the wider business, you’ll ensure production is aligned with commercial priorities, customer commitments and future growth plans. You’ll balance the pressures of a fast-paced environment with the need for considered planning, sound decision-making and sustainable operational performance.

Above all, you’ll take pride in delivering a production operation that is organised, agile, efficient and consistently capable of exceeding expectations.

Are you operating at the top of your game?

You’ll already be an accomplished production leader within a progressive print environment, with a strong understanding of digital print, wide-format production or a similarly technology-led operation. You’ll have a proven track record of managing complex workflows, developing teams and delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality and efficiency.

You’re commercially astute, analytically minded and naturally curious about what technology can do next. You understand production management systems, workflow software and the importance of using data to make better decisions. You’re equally comfortable discussing performance metrics and investment opportunities as you are resolving an operational bottleneck or motivating your team through a demanding day.

But beyond the experience and technical knowledge, we’re looking for someone with the drive to make a genuine impact. Someone who spots opportunities others miss, has the confidence to challenge convention and brings the energy and ambition to take an already successful operation to its next level.

The opportunity.

This is your chance to join a business that has embraced the possibilities of modern print and invested in the technology, systems and capabilities to deliver. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the way production operates, influence future development and make your mark within a forward-thinking, ambitious organisation.

If you’re an outstanding production professional who thrives on progress, takes pride in operational excellence and wants to lead a team where the potential to achieve more is very real, we’d like to hear from you.
