To lead and deliver packaging specific elements of new product innovation, cost saving initiatives and brand maintenance projects. To provide technical support on packaging related issues to the Quality, Commercial and Supply functions.
The job holder will be responsible for the delivery of small to medium sized packaging projects as required by the innovation strategy, value generation program or to ensure continuity of supply. Working through the packaging development process they will ensure that packaging solutions meet all legal, functional and customer/consumer requirements.
• To develop and deliver new packaging designs as required by the innovation strategy.
• To lead validation of new packaging materials and processes as required to maintain continuity of supply
• To proactively work with suppliers to ensure packaging performance, also preventing and managing technical issues on existing packaging solutions.
• To support the overall organisation by providing technical expertise as relevant.
• Maintain & develop new specifications for packaging that is reflective of its functional use in our chosen markets.

They will work closely with and build effective networks with suppliers, the commercial team and factories to generate new ideas and execute effectively. Through keeping in touch with packaging trends and customer needs they will help generate ideas to fuel the packaging strategy. They will leverage technical functional skills related to packaging materials, data analysis and problem solving to provide technical support to the overall organisation where necessary.
