This world renowned organisation seeks an experienced Packaging Technologist.
1) Lead the packaging development activities on small to medium global new variant/brand projects. Provide technical guidance to design agencies, suppliers and marketing. Including:
– Define packaging brief with brand and technical team
– Select packs to meet project, brand, consumer and technical requirements
– Develop new colours for plastic components + new pack graphic designs
– Technical development of custom components on small scale projects
– Define packaging action standards / functional requirements
– Conduct testing and validation
– Create and cascade approved global toolkits + quality standards
2) Ensure the pack undergoes relevant testing protocols, interpret and act on results to enable specification build, create reports and make recommendations to the team.
3) Effectively communicate with multiple functions and external parties to ensure relevant packaging activities adhere to network timings. Ensure all packaging deliverables are accounted for in decision gate documents and that all risks are identified and managed.
4) Ensure key project deliverables are met by managing stakeholders requirements (e.g. Technical Project Leader, Marketing Project Leader) and deputise for the Packaging Leader as required.
5) Manage and lead technical relationships with suppliers to deliver new hardware designs, component qualifications, colour developments and artwork proofing; evaluation and testing. Be aware of protecting intellectual property and set up confidentiality agreements where required.
6) Define material specifications for new variants and assist with the development of functional specifications for key global projects.
7) Play an active role in leading and contributing to the packaging “jobs to be done” and capability areas
