A leading company is looking for a packaging technologist who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment, likes to be challenged, and values the opportunity to make a difference. Joining the R&D packaging team of this inspirational organisation, you will work on their portfolio of products; learn and understand the environment where your products compete in the every day market; and acknowledge the key drivers and attributes that matter so that you can put your creative mind to work and identify new innovative packaging formats that can make a difference.

The role of Packaging Technologist will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead development projects from design through to development and qualification of all packaging technical elements
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met and that materials are evaluated for compliance and applicable legislation
  • Conduct packaging trials and transport tests to validate product life cycle
  • Deliver and maintain the content of technical specifications for all packaging components developed in a project
  • Keep up to date with new packaging innovations and market trends and to generate new opportunities based on insights and creativity

Success in a packaging technologist role requires someone who has the ability to come up with new ways of doing things. You must be thorough, pay attention to detail and have strong analytical thinking skills. The role requires persistence and determination and exceptional thinking and reasoning skills.
