Our Client is a £multi million operation who have a heritage of innovation in the food and medical packaging sectors.

As part of their plans to expand their Technical Dept they are creating a new laboratory and are seeking to appoint a Packaging Development Technologist.

Skills & Experience required:

Knowledge and experience of the food packaging / flexible packaging industry, including multi-layer film, adhesives, lamination, other conversion processes and print processes.

Experience of successfully progressing new product development projects in the flexible packaging industry.

Can demonstrate hands on experience of applying problem solving techniques to product development challenges in flexible packaging.

Understanding of materials and product test & characterisation methods, specifically polymer / film testing used in flexible packaging is highly desirable.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Self-motivated with the ability to plan, co-ordinate and progress laboratory scale development projects and to manage these developments through scale-up into commercial products.

Analytical thinker with the ability to assimilate information from many sources and use this information to support development efforts.

Able to safely and competently operate all necessary laboratory and relevant production equipment for the preparation and testing of development materials.

Ability to accurately record, analyse, report and present information both verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities

To co-ordinate and progress multiple development projects (both long term and short term) for new materials, products and/or processes.

To arrange, execute and report on development trials to progress project activities against demanding project timescales.

To operate appropriate processing machinery, laboratory test equipment and related equipment including the accurate interpretation of the results to progress projects.
