Designing and delivering primary and secondary packaging solutions for all the product innovations.
Application of project management using stage gate innovation approach.
Managing packaging development innovation and delivery cycle.
Collaborative and clear communication with external suppliers and the commercial team.
Identify technical risks and trouble shoot them, leveraging support when needed from other R&D teams and external suppliers.
Effectively lead the integration of consumer and business needs to deliver innovative and cost efficient packaging solutions.
Leverage all technical capabilities accessible within the technical community to efficiently meet program needs.
Continually seek opportunities to develop more effective and improved packaging solutions for different product formats and supply chains.

Essential requirements

1st degree qualification. A technical degree/qualification would be an advantage.
The job holder will have good packaging development skills but also show agility, personally engaging in developing the appropriate packaging solutions for all new products and getting them ready for commercialisation.
Experience in leading projects leveraging teams of people from diverse technical backgrounds and capabilities, including managing a diverse geographical supplier footprint.
Understanding of broad range packaging materials and packaging solutions. Good understanding of packaging manufacturing processes.
Commercially aware and able to manage both cost and value of projects, including business cases.
Ability to leverage external suppliers across a diverse geographical footprint. Can manage high complexity with sometimes conflicting inter-dependencies.
Creative, entrepreneurial, dynamic, can-do attitude.
Good inter-personal skills and real drive towards action.
