Position Overview:

The Site Service Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance and training on a range of print and mailing production equipment, as well as knowledge of ancillary finishing equipment. Thie internal, and external, contact on all hardware and software related problems, this role is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures in a timely manner, while following Company’s procedures for proper repair and escalation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Primary responsibility is to minimise operational downtime by troubleshooting and repairing all mechanical, electrical and software issues, as well as liaison with 3rd party suppliers where equipment may be on service contract.
  • Maintains site customer equipment by conducting routine maintenance and performing regular preventative maintenance on applicable equipment while following Company’s procedures for proper repair and escalation.
  • Keeping accurate track of on-site equipment parts inventory, scheduling and timely ordering parts for site replenishment.
  • Identify, analyse, and repair machine failures, order replacement parts as required
  • Assist Production with daily operation and operator duties.
  • Provide technical product training and basic user functionality training to staff when required.
  • Escalate technical and mechanical issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Provide product feedback & suggestions to the Operations Manager.
  • Creates and analyses various dashboard reports, parts usage reports and site history to ensure maximum machine uptime whilst adhering to the best practices as defined by the business.
  • Expands technical knowledge by attending training courses when available.
  • Perform out-of-hours support if the need arises due to business needs.
  • Foster positive internal and external relations by communicating with staff and suppliers; responding to complaints/inquires in a cooperative, supportive, and professional manner.

Qualifications and Skill Required:

  • Educated to Degree level in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or relative fields
  • 3+ years related industry/equipment experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience of mailing camera systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to coordinate with others to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility.
