Mac Operator / Transcribing Operator

This position has now been filled, but has been left on our website as we have other similar vacancies on an ongoing basis.
More importantly, we have vacancies that are not advertised due to their confidential nature. It is therefore in your interest to email your CV, as a Word document, depending on your sector, to:

• Head of Packaging recruitment – Greg Nelson – greg@harrison-scott.co.uk
• Head of Print recruitment – Neil Pearson – neil@harrison-scott.co.uk
• Head of Paper recruitment – Gary Young – gary@harrison-scott.co.uk
• Board level, account management, and all levels of sales vacancies – George Thompson – george@harrison-scott.co.uk

Our divisional heads will then email your CV internally to the consultant who specialises in your exact sector. For example, a category of packaging is cartons, a category of print is print management. In fact, we have over 30 specialist categories.
Our specialist consultant will contact you if we have a live vacancy that matches, or in the near future as soon as a good match to your skill set and experience becomes available.

Amongst other services our Client transcribes documents – bank statements, utility bills etc into easy read / large font format for their Transactional Mail Clients customers.

Original text is transcribed and reformatted without compromising the context or content of the document for visually impaired customers.

Normally they train someone from scratch for this role, as the business is growing they are looking to appoint someone with exposure to, (or a degree of experience in), this field of prepress for ‘faster track’ training.

The role will involve the setup of scanning templates on a specialist data capture and document processing system, scanning the bills, extracting the text and uploading it through their in-house pipeline to convert to an alternative format.
