What You’ll Be Doing

As Bindery Manager, you will:

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and develop the in-house bindery and finishing team, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day production planning, scheduling and resource allocation to meet client deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Ensure workflows, processes and outputs align with the company’s exacting standards.

Technical Responsibility

  • Oversee all bindery and finishing functions including perfect/PUR binding, saddle stitching, lay-flat binding, trimming, folding, creasing and related processes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and lead process enhancements to increase throughput and reduce waste.
  • Work closely with pre-press, press and fulfilment teams to ensure seamless handovers and exceptional final product quality.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Champion health & safety best practices across the bindery floor.
  • Uphold and exceed quality standards through rigorous checks and proactive performance monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output consistency.

Who You Are

  • You bring proven experience in bindery/print finishing environments, ideally with team leadership responsibility.
  • You have excellent technical knowledge of binding equipment and finishing techniques.
  • You are organised, proactive and able to balance high standards with tight delivery timelines.
  • A collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced production setting.
