We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager based in the North East to start quickly. Our client is a major international company in their sector.

The experience we require is outlined below

At least 2 years relevant experience in a logistics function in the field at an appropriate level.
MIS background in Logistics
Technical knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post.
Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training to colleagues.
Communication and reporting skills (verbal and in writing).
Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation and time management skills.
Good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Implementation experience would be beneficial

The main responsibilities include

Establish and implement a supply policy and stock management system.
Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
Coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems
Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements and demand
Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers;
Help develop business by analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs
To implement Quality procedure programmes to maximise product value and customer service
Support and Manage the Warehouse staff
implementing health and safety procedures
managing staff training issues
motivating other members of the team;
project management;
setting objectives.
To attend and comply with all training
Undertake to comply with the Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and its associated policies.
To perform any other duties which may be required from time to time.
Maintain and promote a clean safe working environment
