Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer – Days

Salary: £40-42k basic

Reporting to: Coating & Converting Maintenance Coordinator  

Job Purpose: 

To install, maintain, repair and modify various controls systems & instrumentation equipment, ensure optimised and continuous production. 

This includes routine maintenance, fault diagnostics, calibration and repair of all control related plant and equipment in line with CBM philosophy.

Key Responsibilities & Experience

  • Carry out planned preventative, remedial and breakdown maintenance in accordance with the Site’s CMMS system.
  • Fast and efficient ability for fault diagnostics on all control related equipment to ensure maximum utilisation of machinery and minimisation of manufacturing losses.
  • Carryout hardware maintenance and diagnostics on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out and apply effective fault finding and investigation techniques.
  • Work with Reliability Department to carry out and participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability.
  • Modification of existing equipment to improve system performance, effectiveness and functionality.
  • Responsible for the supervision and training of apprentices, graduate trainees or other individuals under instruction.
  • A time served recognised apprenticeship acquired through the process industry within Instrumentation Engineering.
  • ONC or BTEC National Cert in Instrumentation or Controls Engineering 

Applicants must have previous experience of fault finding and diagnostics on various controls & instruments.
