We are working with a leading packaging manufacturer to appoint a high calibre Group Technology Director.

Role Overview:

This role is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of a world class global technology architecture and digital enterprise service environment. This includes partnering with the broader technology team at country, regional and global level to help define and implement enterprise and regional technology strategy and standards.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy & Planning:
Partner with functional and technical leaders to identify and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs
Develop and execute strategic plans in support of key objectives in a timely and fiscally responsible manner
Inform and drive strategic alignment and partnership with functional and technical peers and leaders
Connect the dots across multiple levels and related functions to understand the entirety of the business
Evaluate research and market analysis, meet with third party vendors, and maintain knowledge of industry innovations and technology platforms to inform strategy
Establish and nurture strategic vendor relationships; influence vendors to align to domain, portfolio, and enterprise strategic objectives
Drive growth for the business by applying technical and domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action

Delivery & Execution:
Define and communicate value propositions, success metrics, and outcomes
Document, review and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met
Develop, plan, and implement sustainable, repeatable, and reliable processes; oversee process improvement
Drive operational excellence to create internal customer satisfaction and meet operational metrics while prioritising external customer needs

People:
Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports
Manage and coordinate strategic direction for staff
Attract, retains, develop, and motivate top talent
Review individual development plans and providing performance feedback

Qualifications:

Proficient in leading at a Senior Manager level or above within a fast-paced, multi-division, national company
Confident in defining, communicating, and driving value propositions, success metrics, and outcomes
Capable of shaping, aligning, and guiding execution of strategic direction for a domain or significant portfolio segment
Aptitude for communicating, influencing, and developing relationships with functional and technical leaders, with high-level vendor partners, and across all levels in the organisation
Ability to select and lead strategic vendor relationships or act as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships
Accomplished in managing and developing direct reports with their own span of control
Qualified to utilise deep market and industry knowledge for a related portfolio segment or domain to achieve strategic objectives
