A leading player in its field is looking for a Packaging Format Designer to work as a member of the Product Development Team, contributing to the development and implementation of packaging format designs.

The objective of this role is to enhance the company’s portfolio through development of formats that extend the current portfolio of designs, as well as providing packaging format design expertise to Product Development & the wider team.

Main Responsibilities:

Workflow

• Work to Product Development processes & procedures, maintaining existing naming parameters & data recording methods.

• Creatively develop formats to broaden commercial value.

• Adding value to existing formats, maximising innovation, and creativity, considering production applications.

• Understanding and responding to new enquiries from both internal and external requestors.

• Supplying samples to requestors specifying design details.

• Liaise with production/commercial/sales regarding die cut, folded, glued & non-standard products, i.e., packaging, promotional, direct mail, etc.

• Source & supply format design production health checks & relay details for quoting.

• The supply of artwork cutter guides to clients for artwork creation.

• The checking of client supplied artwork and subsequent advisory amends dialogue prior to production processes.

• The creation of production print layouts for live jobs.

• The creation of die-cut layouts for live jobs.

• The conversion of supplied printed proofs, advising on any issues prior to production.

• Adding value to format enquiries by developing sample concept ranges including, in association with Product Development team graphic designers, fully printed & finished outputs.

• Presenting sample concept ranges direct to customers.

• Contribute to & help maintain the Product Development format library.

General

• Maintain quality customer service within the department.

• Contribute towards a comfortable working environment.

• Maintain company standards.

• Complete annual internal training programs in designated timeframes.

• Ensure compliance and awareness of ISO, quality, and H&S requirements.

• Undertake to comply with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and its associated policies.

• Any other duties that may be required from time to time.

Technical Qualities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

• Adobe Creative Suite software literate.

• Proven packaging, creative cardboard engineering background.

• Proven creative and innovative background.

• Comfortable at operating in a fast paced, diverse environment.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage and prioritise own workload.

• Thorough knowledge of industry products and processes.
