We are looking for a high calibre finishing professional to manage the continuous improvement of all operations within our client’s Finishing Department in order to obtain optimum performance and achieve all GP objectives. To ensure that the Finishing Department complies with all environmental, quality, health & safety and other legal requirements including all company policies.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To meet production targets and schedules as agreed with the planning department
2. Maintain and drive production and workflow
3. On a daily basis check next days deliveries with the Transport Department
4. Manage BUC and overview their role
5. To performance manage, coach and train staff in order to achieve both the companies and the employees aims
6. To conduct staff reviews every 12 months.
7. To manage and in conjunction with the Operations Manager authorise overtime and sickness payments.
8. To involve all employees in development process’s and to encourage innovation to find better ways of meeting customer demands.
9. To drive training within the finishing area ensuring all induction training and development training is completed to the required standard.
10. To hold improvement meetings with Cell Leaders and relevant staff to identify areas of improvement in both workflow and service, including reducing customer complaints.
11. Ensure PPE is worn as and when required.
12. Recognise potential problems quickly and take preventative action.
13. To ensure that all machinery is kept in good working order and that defects are rectified without delay, advising the Engineering manager where maintenance support is required
14. Ensure all departmental Quality and Health & Safety procedures are maintained and managed
15. Outwork – source suppliers due to overcapacity or specification. Control job when at supplier.
16. Organise transport requirements for suppliers, to and from.
17. Undertake to comply with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and its associated policies.
18. Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Technical Qualities:
1. Managerial experience
2. Lean program trained
3. KPI managment
4. Sound understanding of Finishing processes and procedures
5. Sound understanding of Health and Safety Requirements
