Working within our Client’s Packaging Paper & Board Inks Division this is a field based role reporting to the Sales & Service Manager for UK & Ireland.
The Technical Service Specialist will be responsible for the managing and supporting of Inhouse ink teams in their region ensuring a highly knowledgeable and professional service across our client’s customer base.
The primary responsibility will be organisation of the holiday and sickness cover for the inplant team for the UK & Ireland.
The post holder will also be required to actively manage the CTO for each of their sites in compliance with the Company’s key service agreements.
UK wide travel will be required.
Key Accountabilities.
Health & Safety Management:
Liaise with H&S manager to implement company regulations across all Inhouse locations and ensure the Inhouse team follow the individual site H&S requirements of our customer base.
Ensuring all Inhouse customer locations fulfil company and customer minimum H&S requirements inclusive of H&S notice boards and Company Inhouse infrastructure and signage.
Ensuring involvement and compliance with the meeting requirements and the H&S courses.
Ensure that all Inhouse locations have completed and up to date company Safe Systems Of Work and Standard Operating Procedures in controlled document format.
Approve revisions of the documents and disseminate to the team.
Team- and People Management
Responsible for approving holidays and organizing suitable cover where appropriate as well as the ability to plug any gaps that may occur.
Compile and report training matrix for all Inhouse employees and differentiate between blender, operative, and manager.
Develop training plans for Inhouse employees.
Creation of targets and metrics to identify key employees in order to develop talent.
Be responsible for the identification and further development of key employees.
Take control of the recruitment process from raising the EJF, interviewing and completion of the performance reviews during the probationary period.
Organise the inductions and training requirements of any new employee.
Liaise with HR to ensure critical functions such as RTW are completed in a timely fashion.
Ensure that the holiday log is maintained and up to date.
Compile and report the overtime log and monthly recharges.
Compile the inplant charges for Flint to process at month end.
Be responsible for the value add aspects Flint Grp within our customer base.
Person Specification
Supervisory / People Management Experience – Recruitment / Training / Scheduling / Appraisals etc.
Experience required of managing remote specialist multiple teams is required
It is preferable that the post holder have at least 2 years’ experience of working in an Ink or print based environment with good colour vision & an eye for detail.
A background experience of implementing H&S policies and procedures in a production environment is preferred.
Personal Attributes – Capabilities And Skills
Must hold a full driving license UK & Ireland
Flexibility and willingness to travel around the UK & Ireland is a necessity.
IT skills are essential such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint are essential, as is a
willingness to grasp SAP.
Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of performing their daily
duties without direct supervision to establish strong relationships with our
employees and customers.
Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate value activity to the customer
Self-starter with project management experience preferred, who initiates plans and drives action to identify and realise market potential.
Be a team player with the ability to manage multiple personnel at multiple sites.
Good problem solving skills are required
Must be methodical, organized and tidy.
