Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Ink Development Chemist to join this client’s dynamic R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and formulating inks for various printing applications, working closely with the technical team to ensure optimal quality and performance. Your expertise will help drive innovation in printing technologies and packaging solutions, contributing to both sustainability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and formulate new ink systems for a variety of printing applications, including flexographic, gravure, digital, and offset printing.

· Work closely with the R&D, technical and production teams to optimise ink formulations and ensure consistent quality.

· Conduct in-depth testing and analysis of ink properties, including adhesion, viscosity, curing, and colour consistency.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ink performance and compatibility with substrates.

· Collaborate with the technical team to understand customers’ specific printing needs and offer tailored ink solutions.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to ensure our ink products remain at the forefront of the market.

· Assist with the scale-up and commercial production of new ink formulations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.

· Proven experience in ink formulation and development for the print and packaging industry.

· Strong understanding of ink chemistry, including resins, pigments, solvents, and additives.

· Experience with different printing technologies such as flexographic, gravure, digital, and offset.

· Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and the development of eco-friendly ink formulations.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
