This is a rare opportunity for an industry expert to join one of Africa’s leading printing and packaging companies. We are looking for candidates who are used to the expat way of life, or have been thinking about this lifestyle, to embark on a new adventure. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Responsible to the Production Supervisor for the performance of the conversion department during their duty/shift. 

•    Implement proper guidelines and necessary process control in the manufacture of converted products. 

•    Ensure machines are running normally and make sure operating supplies and materials are available for continuous operation. 

•    Detail labour as required for different processes, follow their work, and assist technically with converting machines. 

•    Continuously control the production lines and remedy any deviations. 

•    Inform the Maintenance Supervisor and staff of any breakdowns, follow up on repairs, and enter details into the Plant Shift Supervisors logbook. 

•    Authorise Maintenance request cards by control signature. 

•    Supervise material usage, applying the known technical standards.

•    Maintain acceptable quality standards in coordination with Quality Control for finished product inspection and sampling. Conduct First Off Checks if the Quality Control inspector is not available. 

•    Ensure finished products, after inspection, are sent to the Finished Goods Store (FGS) in accordance with the approved system. 

•    Countercheck Production reports entered in the KIWIPLAN system. 

•    Prepare daily production reports for the shift and submit them to the Plant Superintendent. 

•    Act accordingly for excess boards. 

•    Control waste and investigate the possible cause for corrective actions. 

•    Train and motivate workers to be more productive. 

•    Ensure good housekeeping in the area of responsibility. 

•    Assume the role of Plant In-Charge after regular working hours, concerning discipline, health, and safety, and taking full control of the departments involved in plant operation.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a college graduate, preferably with an engineering course or equivalent. 

Minimum of five to ten years of experience related to the same field with modern and high technology machinery. 

Must have knowledge of conversion machineries.
