We have an unmissable opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join an award-winning communications company

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, target driven individual who is not only deadline drive, but has a creative flare and shows great attention to detail. You must be an effective and articulate communicator with a clear understanding of the sales cycle, able to identify and influence key decision makers. We are looking for someone who is confident and comfortable at presenting at board level to open doors and initiate constructive dialogue with prospective clients.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Secure new business on term contracts to meet annually agreed objectives and targets
• To build and develop a sales pipeline for the company in agreed target markets through activities not restricted to the following:
o The identification of suitable markets
o developing a solution that brings value to the company and adds value to the target audience
o a ‘hunter and seeker’ approach to the identification of prospects
o the development of a shortlist of targets which is agreed by the Senior Team
o identification of key contacts within the agreed targets
o engagement with key contacts through continued perseverance
o Securing meetings with key contacts to gain understanding of their business issues
o conversing eloquently about all aspects of the firm’s services and where we can add value to the clients business – an intellectual sale
o Networking
• To contribute to new bids and tenders and lead when required (support provided by bid team)
• To ensure that new business contracts are approved and signed off by the relevant authority within the account, and within the organisation
• Report on current sales activity as required
• Maintain existing sales databases and develop new sales databases as appropriate and ensure that these databases are used effectively as a tool to identify prospects and raise the profile of the organisation and its services at the right time with the single objective to improve opportunity of securing new and repeat business
• Provide sales and marketing support for specified projects
• To document and report sales and marketing activities and action plans as and when required
• Communicate activity with the Business Development Director at least twice weekly

Candidates must have an extensive knowledge and experience of the print and communications market and be highly computer literate. Experience in the direct mail and/or transactional mail sectors will be an added bonus.
