Role Reports to: New Product Development Manager.
Role based in: UK – with International travel.

Scope for career development due to longer term succession planning.

Experience Required:-

Proven experience in parallel market for development of new products.

Formal Project Management.

Excel, PowerPoint and analytical tools.

Experience Desired:-

Proven capability in New Product Development with examples.
Experience with coatings.
Demonstrated understanding for substrates – Film, Paper and Aluminium.
Familiarity with Reel fed Production Processes.

Relationships:-

Technical contacts at Customers.
Internal Sales.
Production personnel.
Institutes, Universities.
Suppliers of Substrates , Coatings, equipment & machinery.

Skills Required:-

Analytical skills & systematic work approach.
Sound sense for market chances and customer needs.
Self motivation with capability to motivate others.

Nature to explore opportunities and bring them forward.

Awareness of market trends.

Good interpersonal skills.

Role Requirements:-

Chemistry Degree.
Proven track record of involvement within New Product Development.
Experience with Coatings.
Experience of working with Film, Paper & Aluminium Substrates.
Familiarity with Reel fed Production Processes is desirable.

Role Function:-

Maintain all aspects of designated Product Sector in accordance to Strategic Plan.

Support Sales contact to market development as agreed with NPD Manager.

Develop Strong Customer Relationship in Technical Area and understand customer & market
needs.

Trouble shoot internally and at Customer to maintain performance and product quality for designated products.

Provide continuous improvement initiatives for product and process.

Development New value add Products from concept through to Market allowing increased margins.

Successfully manage R&D projects within agreed budget and timelines.

Update to internal processes as required.

Support to Purchasing initiatives.

Where needed, operate between UK and overseas manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities:-

Customer Rejection level below budgeted level in co-operation with Operations.

Support team in achievement of annual targets for Sales and profitability.

Operate within departmental cost allocation.

Contribute to NPD development strategy
