  • How long does it take to find the perfect candidate for a vacancy?

    We have been building our database for 31 years so very often we will already have the perfect candidate on our system.
    Harrison Scott Associates is a 7-day operation so there have been many times when we have been contacted about a new role on a Friday and have put forward well matched candidates by the Monday.
    There are of course times when we have to put more resources in place to find the perfect fit, which is when our great networking within the print, packaging and paper industries comes into hand.

    If, however a client is looking for the likes of an operator or account manager, 99% of the time they will want to find a candidate with relevant industry experience.

  • Do you recruit for print, packaging or paper vacancies outside the UK?

    Although our offices are based in the UK, with such sophisticated technology and contacts worldwide, we are able to help clients find candidates across the globe.
    We have successfully placed candidates in France, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, and further afield.

  • Do candidates have to pay any fees to register with Harrison Scott Associates?

    It is the client that is responsible for paying our fees, however we never hide the fact that a candidate’s future is our first priority.

  • I have sent a copy of my CV and I can see vacancies on your website that I think I am suitable for. Why have you not called me?

    This could be for any number of reasons. Sometimes clients are specific about industry experience. For example, they might have told us that they only want to see candidates with a certain amount of print, packaging or paper industry experience.
    It could also be based on the information we hold on you, whereby we don’t think that you would be interested in the role.
    For example, if you told us that you were looking for a minimum salary and the vacancy is paying less. If in doubt, then please call and we can confirm.
    Please be assured that if we can put you forward for a vacancy, we will!

  • Will Harrison Scott Associates send my CV to clients without contacting me?

    We will never do so without seeking your permission.
    Your details will only ever be presented to a client after we have spoken to you about the vacancy.

  • Can I be considered for more than one vacancy at the same time?

    Of course! You can apply and be put forward for as many roles as we consider you suitable for.
    If you receive an offer from more than one client, then the decision will be yours as to which you accept.

  • How does Harrison Scott differ from other recruitment companies?

    If you ever get the chance to read an advert for a recruitment consultant vacancy, you will see the vast majority want salespeople: someone who can sell a candidate to the client; someone who can sell a job to the candidate.
    We are totally against this type of recruitment practice. Harrison Scott Associates is much more like an accounting or solicitors’ firm.
    We have never had sales targets, and never will. Our consultants are ex managers who have been with us for 18 to 26 years. We seldom have meetings, but when we do it’s never about fees, it’s only about service.
