Packaging Technologist – Drinks

A well-established drinks specialist has an opportunity to join their dynamic team. They are looking to appoint a packaging technologist to provide technical support and assistance to the business. 

The role of packaging technologist will be to co-ordinate the investigation and the follow-up of packaging non-conformances; perform audits of packaging suppliers manufacturing facilities and quality systems; and ensure that all packaging is in accordance with its specification and provides the functionality to meet demands. 

Candidates must have a proven track record of successfully working with packaging materials from a technical viewpoint. Bringing this experience to the table, you will advise our clients on packaging improvements / developments and provide advice on legislative and regulatory requirements pertaining to the packaging of the finished product.

Not only will you have a sound technical ability, but you will also demonstrate strong communication skills. We are looking for someone who will work as a team player, liaising closely with all departments to ensure functional needs are met, especially with the engineering department to decide whether downtime is due to packaging or equipment fails. You will also assist sales and marketing in identifying specific customers’ needs and develop packaging solutions to support these. Self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously is equally as important.

Skills/Experience:

• Full driving license
• FLT License
• Good administration skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of discipline.
• IT skills to support and enhance performance.
• Proven track record of team working and continuous improvement objectives. 
• Ability to make reasoned decisions and strength of character to stand by them
