PrintWeek Power 100 2011

PrintWeek presents its annual list of UK print’s 100 most influential individuals

90 George Thompson

Why Always a popular choice in the public vote, Thompson remains one of the brightest characters in print and is regarded as “personable” and “amusing” by clients and colleagues. Popular among friends and foe and known for his enthusiasm for all things recruitment-based, Thompson has a track record of getting the right person for any job that lands on his desk. Like his great rival Dani Novick (see No 89), his role has been made harder by recent consolidation and closures, but with a “knowledge of the marketplace that is second to none” according to one former client, if there is a job available, it’s likely he will know the person to fill the role.
